Daily Record: Scotland games will be free to air as BBC seek deal with Premier Sports for Nations League clashes

Story from Daily Record:

Scotland matches are set to be on council telly once more after the BBC launched a joint bid with Premier Sports.

Record Sport understands the broadcasters want to team up to show the national team’s fixtures for the upcoming Nations League campaign, which kicks off on Thursday with Poland’s visit to Hampden. Viaplay own all the rights and have an agreement to show all international fixtures but, as of yet, they haven’t agreed a deal with a broadcaster. But now BBC Scotland and Premier have weighed in to buy the rights for Scotland’s upcoming games.

If it is agreed then it would see Scotland’s Nations League games on free-to-air television and also on Premier Sports. Scotland take on Poland and then are away to Portugal on Sunday in League A Group 1. They are in Croatia and then host the Portuguese next month and sign off their campaign at home to the Croats and away to Poland in November. It will be Scotland’s first game since Euro 2024 and the first time Steve Clarke's men have been in the top pot in the Nations League.
